POWR-L

The POWR-L (Psychology of Women Resource List) is an independently operating listserv free for anyone interested to join—there are no membership requirements. Its purpose is to facilitate discussion of current topics, research, teaching strategies, and practice issues among people interested in feminist psychology, and to publicize relevant conferences, job announcements, calls for papers, publications, and the like. It is open to anyone interested in the field.

In the early 1990s, a number of AWP and APA members proposed the creation of this listserv to strengthen communication on critical, time-sensitive issues. Both APA Division 35 and AWP approved this proposal and agreed to support POWR-L as co-sponsors. Originally, the listserv was hosted by the University of Rhode Island. Today, POWR-L is generously hosted by Sherry Hamby, PhD. POWR-L is not the AWP listserv as it operates independently of the organization.
